A series of four encounters designed to explore the intimate and silent nature of this great 17th century painter's art.  The event, masterminded by Art Workshop Director Paola Vassalli, is scheduled to commence on Friday 19 October and will be conducted by art historian Anna Maria Panzera.

Tour the exhibition on a journey in sound through the works of the Dutch masters, and tiptoe into the cozy atmosphere of a 17th century home.  The light filtering through the windows will accompany your gaze as you peer into Vermeer's life and times, amid the alleys and canals of his city.  Join the workshop where rooms in today's homes come alive with objects to tell the tale of the gestures and noises of the people who live in them.

Tour the exhibition to get acquainted close up with one of the most celebrated Venetian painters of the 16th century.  Always open to experiment and innovation, Tintoretto's work ranges from religious paintings to mythological scenes and portraiture.  Join the workshop to create ceilings and false ceilings inspired by his use of perspective and his daring “sottoinsù” figures seen "from the bottom up"

At the exhibition you'll get to know the artist's life and works, from his beginnings as an apprentice in his father's workshop to the meeting with his master and travelling companion Sandro Botticelli.  In the workshop you'll experiment with this Florentine artist's language and grasp the essence of the Renaissance in his painting, rich in fluid lines, tenuous colours and transparent drapery

The painting of the Risorgimento, between art and history, tells us of the ideals behind the struggle for constitution of the Italian state. Works by the major late 19th century painters, from Fattori to Induno, recreate in the exhibition and workshop the atmospheres and contradictions of an age that saw the birth of our nation.

And off we go with the third spot! event, a date for the guided interpretation of a work of art. On the occasion of the exhibition "Caravaggio", four encounters to retrace the vicissitudes of the Milanese painter: from his first attempts in the workshop of Simone Peterzano, through the influences of Lombardy culture and on to the Roman period, when the stylistic features of an artist who loved "to paint naturally" were defined. Then the Neapolitan period when he reinforced his style also in relation to the autobiographical element that would be a feature throughout his work. It's this relationship that we want to confirm and reinforce, accompanying visitors to discover, with the artist, the force of reality.
